DISKETTE DRIVE

Why can't I boot from the diskette drive?
To boot from the diskette drive, be sure that you have a diskette in drive A:
containing operating system files. Also, be sure that you have the BootUp Sequence set
to A:, C: in Advance CMOS Setup in the BIOS. See Chapter 3, "Using Setup." See your
operating system documentation for information about creating system diskettes.
NOTE
The system looks for the drive containing operating system files. If you
have a diskette with operating system's files in drive A:, the system boots
from the diskette drive. If you do not have a diskette in drive A:, the system
boots from the hard disk.
Using a diskette without operating system files in drive A: prevents a system
boot and displays the error message, "Non system disk or disk error. Re-
place and strike any key when ready."
What happens if I leave a diskette in my diskette drive?
Shutting down your system with a diskette drive in the diskette drive can damage
the data on your diskette and your diskette drive. You should remove the diskette before
powering off.
