Using the DC Car Adapter

Another way to power your NEC Versa 6200MX is via car battery power
using the optional DC car adapter. Connect your system to the optional DC
car adapter as follows.
Disconnect the AC adapter from the system if connected.

Plug the appropriate end of the car DC adapter into the power port on the

Plug the DC car adapter into a car cigarette lighter.

Internal Batteries

The eight-cell Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery provides the main power source
in your NEC Versa 6200MX computer. See Appendix B for a list of Li-Ion
battery specifications. In addition to this battery, the CMOS battery and
bridge battery also provide system power.

CMOS Battery

This lithium battery provides battery backup and prevents data loss in the
system's complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) RAM. This
memory area contains information on the system's configuration, for exam-
ple date, time, drives, and memory. The CMOS battery lasts approximately
two years. An authorized NEC service technician can replace the CMOS
battery for you.
