The NEC Versa PC card modem comes with a telephone cable jack. You
can connect the jack directly to a wall telephone outlet.
Connecting to a Phone Cable Only
Use the cable that comes with your optional modem to connect the modem's
telephone jack to a wall telephone outlet. Follow these steps to connect your
optional modem to a phone line.
1.
Connect the small end of the cable to the modem connector with the ar-
row pointing up.
2.
Connect the other end of the telephone cable to the wall outlet (you might
have to unplug the telephone if it is plugged into the outlet).

jack.
