46 Chapter 3: Matrox Iris GT with Windows XPe
This manual assumes that you have network access, and are able to join a pre-set
domain from your Matrox Iris GT. When this is the case, you can share a folder
on the device from which to copy files, and access that folder from your smart
camera.
If this is not the case, use an external USB storage device to copy files to your
Matrox Iris GT.

Using your Matrox Iris GT remotely

To manage your Matrox Iris GT from another computer, you can use the
Windows XP Remote Desktop feature. To use the Remote Desktop feature, both
machines must be connected to the same network or have an internet connection.
❖ Note that if your smart camera is using Windows XPe and you turn on your smart
camera, you are automatically logged on to a default account (see the XPConfig
utility section, in Chapter 3: Matrox Iris GT with Windows XPe). If you have not
changed the default account, the default user name and password are both
Administrator.
Follow these steps to use your smart camera remotely:
1. On your Matrox Iris GT, open the Windows Settings Control Panel menu
command from the Windows Start menu, click on the System icon, and then
select the Remote tab from the presented dialog box.
2. From the Remote tab, enable the Allow users to connect remotely to this
computer option.
Note that to allow remote access to your smart camera, you must leave it turned
on and logged on to the network or connected to the internet.
1. Refer to the Microsoft Windows XP documentation for further information on join-
ing domains.
