disable the automatic popup feature by choosing the appropriate settings on the
Global Settings tab of the Matrox Iris GT Windows XP Embedded
Configuration dialog box.
❖ Note that if XPconfig's autopopup feature is disabled, use the command line to
launch XPConfig.

/dmacheck

When you call XPConfig with the /dmacheck option, XPConfig determines the
amount of memory installed in the Matrox Iris GT unit. In addition, it validates
and corrects other memory-related parameters. Note that the standard XPConfig
dialog box is not displayed when this option is used.
The memory-related parameters are considered valid when the total amount of
physical memory minus the graphics controller memory, minus the memory for
system management mode, minus the total amount of non-paged (DMA)
memory reserved by MIL, minus the total amount of memory available to
Windows XP Embedded equals 0. That is:
If this equation is unbalanced, XPConfig will adjust the available memory
parameter accordingly. For these adjustments to take effect, the computer must
reboot. This command is useful for adjusting the amount of memory available to
the operating system if physical memory (RAM) is added or removed while
non-paged memory is reserved by MIL.

/mem

When you call XPConfig with the /mem option, XPConfig performs the same
operations as /dmacheck. However, before validating and correcting
memory-related parameters, it reports these parameters by displaying a message
box. This message box lists the following information:
• CPU type.
• CPU clock speed.
