Visual studio, the recommended development environment, lets you write, test,
and debug your imaging application on your development computer, and
eventually transfer your imaging application to your Matrox Iris GT for final
debugging. This speeds up the development process, and removes the requirement
of trying to host the often large and complex development environments on your
Matrox Iris GT, allowing your imaging application access to more memory and
processing power when it runs on your Matrox Iris GT. Your Matrox Iris GT
comes with a MIL run-time license, allowing you to run MIL applications. To
develop a MIL application, you must purchase an additional copy of MIL from
your Matrox representative.

Matrox Starter Kit and connection modules

To start developing your application quickly, you can purchase the Matrox Starter
Kit. The kit includes a simple lens, cables, and the Matrox breakout board. The
Matrox breakout board is a connection module that allows you to test the I/O
auxiliary signals and power your camera easily. Note that you can also purchase
the lens, cables, and connection module separately.
To install your Matrox Iris GT in an industrial environment, you can purchase
the Matrox Breakout Box module. This module is a DIN-rail mountable
connection module that allows you to power your camera and opto-isolate input
and output signals with separate G4 Opto-22 standard I/O modules.
Matrox Breakout Box is better suited for installation in an industrial panel than
the Matrox breakout board.
