138 Appendix G: Restoring your Matrox Iris GT to factory defaults

Introduction

Your Matrox Iris GT package will include the Matrox Iris GT Windows XPe
Rescue utility DVD. This DVD contains the Windows XPe Rescue utility, which
restores the Matrox Iris GT flash disk with its the original files and setup
configuration, supplied by Matrox, if they become corrupt. This DVD also
contains a batch file to create a rescue USB flash drive.
There are two ways to restore your flash disk to its factory-default configuration:
either use the Matrox Iris GT Rescue utility, or use a rescue USB flash drive.
Files that are saved on the flash disk of your Matrox Iris GT after factory
configuration cannot be restored.

Using the Matrox Iris GT Rescue utility

To restore the contents of your flash disk to the factory-default configuration,
using a bootable DVD drive connected to your Matrox Iris GT:
1. Connect a USB DVD drive to the USB connector of your Matrox Iris GT smart
camera. Note that, if you need to connect multiple USB devices, connect a USB
hub to the USB connector of your Matrox Iris GT. For details on how to connect
a USB device or a bootable DVD drive to your Matrox Iris GT, refer to the
Powering and connecting to your Matrox Iris GT section, in Chapter 2: Powering
and connecting to your Matrox Iris GT.
2. Turn on your smart camera.
3. Press F11 during POST to access the Boot-Device Selection utility included in
the Matrox Iris GT BIOS.
4. Insert the Matrox Iris GT Windows XPe Rescue utility DVD into the DVD drive.
