Connecting external devices to input lines

You can connect a wide variety of external devices to the input lines of your Matrox
GatorEye, such as external triggering devices. For information on the electrical
specifications of the ON and OFF voltage levels, see the Electrical specifications
subsection of the Matrox GatorEye specifications section, in Appendix B: Technical
Reference.
Connect LineTrig+ to the positive (+) trigger output of your trigger generator.
❖ Note that in all cases, your Matrox GatorEye auxiliary input and trigger lines
expect to have a nominal voltage of 15 to 24 V.
In addition, connect LineTrig- to the ground of the third-party device. In this
case, the LineTrig connection is reliant on the ground of the trigger generator,
rather than the ground of your Matrox GatorEye. This results in your Matrox
GatorEye and your trigger generator to each maintain its independent ground,
and allows the connection with the trigger generator to be fully isolated.
When using an auxiliary input line, the negative versions of the lines are internally
connected to the ground of your Matrox GatorEye. This results in a partially
isolated connection, even when the external device has its own ground.
