supplied
at a power higher than the expected average power. The following formulas can
be used to calculate the required resistance (R) and the expected power for that
resistance (P).
For example, if the external voltage, +V
expects a 5 V input signal with 5 mA of current, you should use a 1 KΩ resistor.
The expected power would be 25 mW. In this case, it is recommended that you
use a resistor rated for ¼ W, which is sufficiently higher than the average expected
power.
• If the voltage source outputs a voltage that is different from what the lighting
controller expects, you must add an external voltage divider between the external
power supply, the Matrox GatorEye auxiliary output line, and the lighting
controller.
