Selecting the Paper for Printing Received Faxes
Faxes will print only on certain paper types in certain sizes. The table below lists paper acceptable for
printing faxes.
Paper Tray
Tray 1
500-Sheet Feeder
(optional for Phaser 6121MFP/N and /D only)
If your printer configuration includes the optional 500-sheet feeder, then your received faxes will
automatically be printed using paper from this tray.
If you do not have the optional 500-sheet feeder installed, then you must make sure that the default
paper type and size set in the System Menu for paper setup is Plain Paper or Letterhead, size Letter,
Legal, or A4. If the paper setting is set to something else, such as Labels, the printer will retain the fax
in memory and not print it until the paper setting has been changed to an acceptable type.
To change the paper settings for Tray 1:
1. On the printer control panel, press the Back/Menu button.
2. Press the Down Arrow button to go Paper Setup and then press the OK button.
3. Select Tray 1 Paper and press OK.
4. Select the paper type, either Plain Paper or Letterhead and then press OK, then select the paper
size, either Letter, Legal, or A4, and then press OK.
Delay Printing Received Faxes
This section includes:
•
Setting Up Memory Receive
•
Printing a Stored Received Fax
Received faxes can be stored in the printer's memory and then printed at a specified time. This is
convenient when you are expecting a fax from overseas, for example, at a time when there will be no
one around to retrieve the fax and you want to keep it confidential, or you are not comfortable having
it sit in the print-out tray unattended.
Note:
The fax memory holds about 250 standard, letter-sized pages.
