Symptom
The print or color density is
uneven.
Irregular print or the image
appears mottled.
Fuser problems: toner from the
image comes off when the
image is rubbed because of
insufficient fusing.
There are toner smudges or
residual images.
Cause
One or more of the toner
cartridges may be defective or
low.
The imaging unit may be
defective.
The printer is not level.
The paper is damp.
Unsupported media (wrong
size, thickness, type, etc.) is
being used.
One or more of the toner
cartridges may be defective.
The imaging unit may be
defective.
The paper is damp.
Unsupported media (wrong
size, thickness, type, etc.) is
being used.
The media type set in the
printer driver does not match
the media loaded in the printer
tray.
One or more of the toner
cartridges is defective or
installed incorrectly.
Solution
Remove the toner cartridges and inspect
them for damage. Replace any that are
damaged or low.
Remove the imaging unit and inspect it
for damage. If damaged, replace it.
Place the printer on a flat, hard, level
surface.
Remove the moist paper and replace it
with new, dry paper.
Adjust the humidity in the media
storage area.
Use media approved by Xerox for your
printer. See

them for damage. Replace any that are
damaged.
Remove the imaging unit and inspect it
for damage. If damaged, replace it.
