The coolant temperature display fails to operate.
1. Check the coolant temperature sen-
sor.
OK ↓
2. Check the entire signaling system
wiring.
Refer to "CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
(FJR13AG)" on page 8-41 refer to
"CIRCUIT DIAGRAM (FJR13ESG)"
on page 8-43.
OK ↓
Replace the ECU or meter assembly.
Refer to "REPLACING THE ECU (en-
gine control unit)" on page 8-250.
The speedometer fails to operate.
1. Check the rear wheel sensor.
Refer to "MAINTENANCE OF THE
REAR WHEEL SENSOR AND
SENSOR ROTOR" on page 4-42.

2. Check the entire rear wheel sensor
wiring.
Refer to TIP.
OK ↓
Replace the hydraulic unit assembly,
ECU or meter assembly.
Refer to "REPLACING THE ECU (en-
gine control unit)" on page 8-250.
TIP
Replace the wire harness if there is an open or short circuit.
• Between rear wheel sensor coupler and ABS ECU coupler.
(white–white)
(gray–gray)
• Between ABS ECU coupler and ECU coupler.
(blue/yellow–blue/yellow)
(white/yellow–white/yellow)
• Between ECU coupler and meter assembly coupler.
(blue/black–blue/black)
(blue/red–blue/red)

Replace the coolant temperature sensor.

Properly connect or replace the wiring har-
ness.

Replace the rear wheel sensor.
