Check the valve clearance for the intake valves using a
feeler gauge [1].
Insert a feeler gauge between the intake rocker arms [2]
and camshaft cam lobes [3].
INTAKE VALVE CLEARANCE:
0.11 ± 0.03 mm (0.004 ± 0.001 in)
• Be careful not to damage the intake rocker arms.
• Record the clearance for each valve for reference in
shim selection if adjustment is required.
If the clearance is out of specification, adjust the valve
clearance 2-28.

Check the valve clearance for the exhaust valves using a
feeler gauge [1].
Insert a feeler gauge between the exhaust rocker arms
[2] and shims [3].
EXHAUST VALVE CLEARANCE:
0.28 ± 0.03 mm (0.011 ± 0.001 in)
• Record the clearance for each valve for reference in
shim selection if adjustment is required.
If the clearance is out of specification, adjust the valve
clearance 2-28.
