areas or office areas. If air conditioners and ventilation ducts are shared, fire
dampers must be installed for the battery room. The ventilation and exhaust
system must interact with the fire alarm system and be able to keep the
flammable gas concentration at a value lower than 25% lower flammability
limit (LFL).
The battery room must be equipped with a halogenatedane or
perfluorohexanone gas fire extinguishing system, which must interwork with
the fire alarm system. After the extinguishing agent is released, the battery
room must meet the requirement on flame extinguishing concentration within
10 min.
The battery room must be equipped with dry-type water fire extinguishing
facilities such as a water spray or water sprinkler system. Ensure that the
water stored can be supplied for more than 2 hours at the designed water
flow rate and that the surrounding water source must be able to supply water
continuously for 12 hours to cope with the risk of reignition or fire spreading
after a battery fire is extinguished.
The battery room must be equipped with pressure relief explosion-proof
devices or pressure relief channels (such as glass windows and magnetic lock
doors) with equivalent areas. According to the NFPA 68 or GB 50016
standard, if side pressure relief is adopted, a protective fence or wall must be
installed outside the pressure relief channels, and the fence or wall must be at
least 12 m away from the pressure relief wall. Pressure relief explosion-proof
doors and windows must not be opened towards the emergency exit.
The battery room must be equipped with drainage facilities for the water fire
extinguishing system. Firewater must be collected in a designated
containment area or directed to the firewater treatment system located on
the campus.
The battery room must provide coordinated control for fire protection to
disconnect the power supply not intended for fire protection in the area on
fire and related areas. It is recommended that the power supply be
disconnected before the automatic sprinkler system is triggered.
Fire alarms in the battery room must be automatically reported to the fire
supervision center. An automatic fire alarm system must be deployed in
unattended scenarios and report fire alarm signals to the remote
management center.
Other requirements specified in applicable standards (such as NFPA 855,
NEN-1010, and GB 50016) must also be met.
Dispose of waste batteries in accordance with local laws and regulations. Do
not dispose of batteries as household waste. Improper disposal of batteries
may result in environmental pollution or an explosion.
If a battery leaks or is damaged, contact technical support or a battery
recycling company for disposal.
If batteries are out of service life, contact a battery recycling company for
disposal.
Do not expose waste batteries to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
Do not place waste batteries in environments with high humidity or corrosive
substances.
