Handsets

Each handset
(Figure
37) is equipped with a headset port, a touchscreen, a loudspeaker, a USB port, and several buttons.
The corded handsets are also equipped with a cord reel. The handset button functions are described below:
• Press the power button to turn the handset on or off.
• Press the volume up/down button when a call is in progress to increase or decrease the call volume. Press the volume
up/down button when the phone is ringing to silence the ringer. Use the volume up/down button on the home screen
of the touchscreen when no call is in progress to increase or decrease the ring tone volume, set the phone to silent,
or set the phone to vibrate. The volume up/down button is also used in other applications to control the volume of
music, spoken directions, and other audio.
• Press the dialer button to open the dialer screen.
• Press the menu button to open a menu with items that affect the current screen or application.
• Press the back button to open the previous screen. If the onscreen keyboard is open, the back button will close the
keyboard.
• Use the applications button to open the applications screen.

Note: The wireless handset must be attached in the handset cradle during taxi, takeoff, and landing.
