GALLEY DESCRIPTION

WARNING: During taxi, takeoff, and landing, all doors and drawers must be closed, work surfaces must be
stowed, and the sink lid must be stowed. Failure to observe this warning may result in injury to cabin
occupants.
The galley

Each galley compartment that contains an appliance (coffee maker, espresso maker, high-temperature oven, or microwave
oven) is equipped with an overheat sensor to detect a possible malfunction of the appliance. The overheat sensors are
designed to activate when a temperature of 180 °F (82 °C) is reached. The cockpit Engine Indication and Crew Alerting
System (EICAS) displays the message GALLEY OVHT. An overheat relay removes power from the galley appliances when
the overheat sensors are activated. The appliances will also be disabled if the corresponding galley door is closed. The
Human Machine Interface (HMI) buttons and LED lights display instructions and processes on how to operate the coffee
maker.
