To drain the coffee maker water tank and heater, do the steps that follow:
1. Open the drain valve to empty all the water from the unit.
2. Close the drain valve.
Note: Make sure there is no coffee filter or coffee grounds in the brew basket.
3. Fill the tank with fresh water to the top of the sight gauge.
4. Press the brew button to brew the remainder of the fresh water out of the unit.
Note: When the brew cycle completes, empty the coffee carafe.
5. Rotate the drain valve clockwise 90° to drain the water left in the tank.
6. When no more water drains, rotate the drain valve counterclockwise 90° to close.
7. Clean the drain pan.
To clean spills on and around the coffee maker, do the steps that follow:
1. Wipe clean with a soft cloth moistened with water.
2. For stubborn spills, a mild soap and water solution can be used to moisten a soft cloth and wipe spots clean.
