Removing
Follow all safety precautions. Refer to
⇒ "1 Safety Precautions", page 1
Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to
⇒ "2.1 Fuel Supply and Injection System, Clean Working Condi‐
tions", page 3

WARNING
Danger of fuel entering vehicle interior.
♦ To remove Fuel Level Sensor 2 - G169- , fuel tank must
be empty.
– Empty fuel tank. Refer to
⇒ "1.2 Fuel Tank, Draining", page 7
– Remove the fuel filter. Refer to
⇒ "3.2 Fuel Filter, Removing and Installing", page 57
– Grasp in fuel tank opening and remove Fuel Level Sensor 2 -
G169- through guide -arrow 2- while pressing locking tab
-arrow 1-.
Note
Fuel Level Sensor 2 - G169- is shown without fuel tank to provide
a better illustration.
Installing
– Insert Fuel Level Sensor 2 - G169- in guide until it engages
audibly.
– Install fuel filter. Refer to
2.14

Function of the Suction Jet Pumps

Fuel tank is divided into a left and a right chamber. To transport
fuel volume from left to right fuel tank chamber to fuel delivery unit
baffle housing -4-, 2 so-called suction jet pumps -1 and 6- are
used.
