Fuel Supply System - Edition 10.2018
– Connect the Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - Adapter 23 -
VAG1318/23- and Adapter - VAG1318/17-1A- to the Fuel
Injection Gauge Kit - VAG1318- .
– Adapter - VAG1318/17-1A- installed on the removed fuel line.
– Connect the Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - CO Adapter -
VAG1318/11- to the Fuel Injection Gauge Kit - VAG1318- .
– Push an assisting hose -arrow- onto it and hold it into a meas‐
uring container.
– Open the pressure gauge shut-off valve.
• The lever points in the direction of flow.
– Bleed fuel system by briefly pressing remote control.
– Generate pressure in the fuel system by pressing the switch
of the remote control and slowly closing the shut-off valve of
the pressure gauge.
• Specified value: 4 bar (58 psi) pressure.
– From this point on do not move position of shut-off valve.
– Empty the measuring container.
– Press tand hold he switch on the remote control for 15 sec‐
onds.
– Compare quantity of fuel delivered with minimum delivery rate

in diagram (cm /15s).
Note
Voltage at fuel pump with engine stopped and pump running is
approximately 2 volts less than battery voltage.
If minimum delivery quantity is not obtained, the following mal‐
functions may be present:
♦ The fuel lines are pinched.
♦ The fuel filter is clogged.
♦ The fuel pump is faulty.
Assembling
Assemble in reverse order of disassembling. Note the following:

Before disconnecting the pressure gauge, release the pressure
by opening the shut-off valve. Hold the hose in a measuring con‐
tainer -arrow-.
– Connect the fuel supply line 1. Check for cleanliness and
leaks.
– Insert the frame into the floor covering. Refer to the Parts Cat‐
