2.17) Red boost lamp of the boost pressure control is flashing

If the red boost lamp flashes, this indicates that the time limit for the 5-minute
take-off performance limit has been exceeded.
Depending on how long the limit has been exceeded, increased wear as a result
of thermal overload can be expected at cylinders, valves and spark plugs.
The following checks must be carried out:

Check wiring. See 12-00-00, sec. 6.1.
If no mechanical damage is detected during the visual inspection, check the
boost pressure control. See sec. 13.6.
Limit exceeded for up to 1 min.:
No immediate checks are necessary as long as no further operating limits have
been exceeded.
■ CAUTION:
Limit exceeded for 1 to 3 min.:

Visual inspection of the engine. See 12-00-00, sec. 2.2.

Check the spark plugs. See 12-00-00, sec. 6.2.

Check compression pressure. See 12-00-00, sec. 2.6.
■ CAUTION:
Limit exceeded for over 3 min.:
The pistons, cylinders, valves and cylinder heads must be inspected.
