Controlled Parts Check Procedure
This printer allows the Tech. Rep. to easily determine whether a particular controlled part is
fully operational and check for printer operating conditions.
(For details, see the following pages.)
<Procedure>
1. When a paper misfeed or malfunction occurs, identify on the circuit diagram accompa-
nying the text the controlled part that is probably responsible for the problem.
2. Open "State Confirm" from the Service mode menu and, from among the Switch 1 to 3
screens, select one that is associated with the part identified in step 1 above.
3. Change the state of the part in question and see if the signal is changed.
<Example>
When a paper misfeed occurs, Upper Drawer Paper Take-Up Sensor PC12 is considered
to be responsible for it.
<Procedure>
1. Remove the sheet of paper misfed.
2. Select "Switch 1 (Paper)" of "State Confirm" available from the Serviceman mode
menu.
3. Check that "Upr.-Trans" is "Off" on the screen.
4. Use a sheet of paper to move the PC12 actuator so that PC12 is blocked.
5. Check that "Upr.-Trans" is now "On" on the screen.
