Using Model 5380 Ethernet and Model 5580 Token Ring Routers

Troubleshooting

If the router cannot ping the Site Manager workstation during the installation,
check the following information:

Assigning a Password

To assign a security password to the Technician Interface before logging out of the
Technician Interface, refer to Using Technician Interface Software (router
software) or Administration Guide (BayStream software).

Exiting the Technician Interface

To exit the Technician Interface session, enter
[Ctrl] + t to return to the Main Selection Menu.
If you used an ASCII console to establish a Technician Interface session, you can
disconnect it from the router. If you used terminal emulation to establish a
Technician Interface session, select File, then Exit.
After you install Site Manager, you will use the Technician Interface primarily as
a backup interface if Site Manager becomes unavailable.
To continue with the configuration, refer to Configuring Routers (router software)
or Getting Started with Site Manager (BayStream software).

Verify the IP address of the router. Use the
the Technician Interface to make sure that the physical interface is up
and that the IP address is correct.

Interface (BayStream software).
Verify the IP address and subnetwork mask address of the Site Manager
PC or workstation.
If the workstation is on a different network, verify that routing is
working. Use the
show ip routes
examine the routing table and verify that there is a route or a default
route to the network where the Site Manager workstation is located.
