System 5000 Net Module Removal Procedure

When you remove a net module from a Model 5380 Ethernet Router or Model 5580 Token Ring

Router, you must lift the module straight up, parallel to the baseboard. Grasp the board close to the

connector using both hands; do not pull the board up from one end. The following illustration

shows the correct and the incorrect way to remove a net module.

WARNING: If you rock the module back and forth or side to side, you can

bend the connector pins. When you attempt to reinstall a net module with bent

connector pins, you can damage the net module and the baseboard.
