Flexi -3G Installation & Commissioning Manual
Chapter 8. Commissioning
8.1. Introduction
The following procedure is to be used for the commissioning of Flexi - 3G systems. This procedure is
provided as a reference. Complete an Installation and Commissioning Record and keep with the
system. The Installation and Commissioning Record Example in Appendix C. on page 75 may be used
as a guide.
8.1.1. Rectifier Configuration
The rectifiers are automatically registered on the SC200 controller when the rectifier is inserted. No
further action is required
8.1.2. Battery Configuration
The batteries are automatically registered on the SC200 controller when the Battery MCB is switched
on. No further action is required
8.2. Installation Inspection
1. During the installation and prior to commissioning the installer and installer's supervisor or working
companion must carry out a thorough inspection of the system. This will ensure that the system
has been correctly installed.
2. Perform tests on the AC circuitry as prescribed by local legislation. (See Appendix H. on page 87
and Appendix I. on page 92 for sample copies of documents)
3. Check that the battery voltage and polarity are correct
4. Check that the load connections polarity is correct.
8.3. System Start-Up
1. Insert 1 APR48 – 3G Rectifier into the RM10 magazine. (See Chapter 5. Rectifier Installation on
page 47 for details)
2. Switch on the supply to the cabinet.
3. Switch on the cabinet AC Input Isolator if fitted.
4. Check that the SC 200 Controller initialises and displays the float voltage of 54.5Vdc ± 0.2V with the
correct polarity.
5. Insert the remaining rectifiers 1 at a time.
Initially, on the rectifier, the green LED should be lit along with a flashing yellow LED.
Once communication with the SC200 Controller has been established, only the green LED
should be constantly lit.
6. Check on the SC200 Controller that each rectifier is registered. Refer to Chapter 3/Rectifiers of the
SC200 System Controller Operation Handbook (see section 1.3. Related Information on page 5)
7. Characterise the LVD and PLD Contactors. Refer to Chapter 3/Low Voltage Disconnect (LVD) of
the SC200 System Controller Operation Handbook (see section 1.3. Related Information on page
5)
8. Check the SC200 controller's displayed value for voltage against the actual measured voltage. Use
a calibrated voltmeter/multi-meter and compare values.

9. Check the voltage across the MCB is less than 6V
10. Close the Battery MCB(s)
11. Close the Load MCB(s) (if applicable)
