4.2. Installing the Battery Cables

1. Fit the required number of battery MCBs (one per battery string), starting from the RHS, to the DIN

rail. Fit the MCB over the comb and clip in place.

2. Wire the auxiliary switch into the Fuse Fail PCB, ref System Wiring Diagrams in Appendix B. on

page 74

3. Fit the required number of cable clamps (one per battery string) to the +Ve return bar, starting from

the RHS of the bar.

4. Lay and secure with cable ties, the battery loom cables from the appropriate battery shelf , up

through the cabinet on the RHS, over the top of the +Ve return bar, to be terminated to the return

bar and the battery MCB.

5. Trim the length of the +Ve (Blue) cable to be fitted to the cable clamp on the return bar if required.

Start from the clamp nearest to the RHS. Strip the cable insulation to approx 8mm and insert into

the cable clamp. Tighten to 6Nm.

6. Trim the length of the -Ve (Grey) cable to be fitted to the MCB if required. Start from the breaker

nearest to the RHS. Strip the cable insulation to approx 8mm and insert into top of the MCB.

Tighten to 3.5Nm for >25A type MCBs or 2.5Nm for <25A type MCBs.
