Verifying the operation of the new part in Unisphere

Verify that the new part is recognized by your system, and operating correctly.
Steps
1. In Unisphere, select System View.
2. On the Summary page, confirm that the system status is OK.
3. Select the Enclosures page.
4. Verify that the part appears with the OK status in the enclosure view. You may need to refresh Unisphere by clicking on the
refresh icon next to the Enclosures view.
If the system health monitor shows the part as faulted, contact your service provider.

Replace a faulted SFP

Take the following actions to remove the faulted SFP and install the replacement SFP into the system.

Identifying and locating the faulted part in Unisphere

Before you replace a faulted part, locate its placement within the storage system.
Steps
1. In Unisphere, select System View.
2. Select the Enclosures page.
3. Locate the faulted part marked orange, and displayed in the Enclosures view.

Remove an SFP module

Steps
1. If a cable is connected to the SFP, disconnect the cable.
2. Gently pull down on the spring release latch.
3. While still holding onto the latch, gently pull out the SFP module.
CAUTION:
Do not remove the I/O module. Removing the I/O module causes the SP assembly to reboot
immediately.
