4.8 Function test of the MSS 3RK3 Basic
Configuration release
Step Action
1 Select the menu command "Target system" > "Go off‐
line".
2 Choose "Target system" > "Approve configuration".
3 Set the communications interface through which you
have access to the device (e.g. COM1) and confirm with
"OK".
4 Enter the name and approving company and confirm
with "OK".
5 Acknowledge the message with "OK".
Note
If the report could not be printed when the project was released, e.g. because no printer was
available, the printout must be created at the latest by the time of acceptance by selecting
"Options" > "Release information...".
Safety mode
Step Action
1 Establish an online connection with the MSS 3RK3 using
the "Switching device" > "Open online" or "Target system"
> "Load to PC" menu command.
2 Set the communications interface and confirm with "OK". The project opens online.
3 Activate the menu command "Target system" > "Safety
mode".
4 Confirm with "Yes".

Result
The offline configuration is opened.
The "Approve configuration" dialog box is opened, there‐
by confirming that the configuration test has been per‐
formed properly.
The "Approve configuration" dialog box opens.
The "Approve configuration" dialog box opens. The con‐
figuration has been successfully approved.
The printout of the release information is created.
Result
The Set interface dialog box appears.
The message "Activate safety mode" appears.
The MSS 3RK3 switches to safety mode without pass‐
word protection.
