Safety instructions

Before starting up the device for the first time, please read this manual and in par-
ticular the safety instructions carefully at least once. This is to ensure that you have
understood the contents of this manual and how to operate the coin recycling system.
4.1

Intended use

The CLS coin recycling system is intended for use in point of sale terminals and
banks' front offices. It is designed to check different coins of one currency deposited
into the coin input funnel for specific properties and to accept or reject them. Ac-
cepted coins are sorted into coin hoppers and returned to the customer as change.
Use the coin recycling system exclusively for this purpose. Under no circumstances
can the manufacturer be held liable for any damage or loss resulting from improper
use of the device.
The CLS has been built in accordance with state-of-the-art standards and the rec-
ognized safety directives
can constitute a source of danger. Please observe therefore the following safety
instructions.
4.2

Protecting persons and equipment

The coin recycler is designed for indoor use under dry conditions only.
Use the coin recycler only in accordance with its intended use. Under no circum-
stances can the manufacturer be held liable for any damage or loss resulting from
improper use of the device.
Do only use an appropriate power supply unit and power cable providing protec-
tion against electromagnet interferences
Connect the power cable only to a suitable grounded outlet.
Do not connect the equipment if the connecting cables show any damages or
material fatigue (e.g. porous cables).
Do not throw or drop any foreign objects into the device.
Keep water and other liquids away from the coin recycler.
Switch the device off before cleaning the coin recycler or removing and reinstalling
components. The CLS may only be cleaned and serviced/maintained by qualified
technicians or CPI-trained and authorized personnel.

When transporting the device always remove all coins and only use its original
packaging. It is only in this way sufficiently protected.
Please dispose of the device correctly at the end of its service life.
We reserve the right to make technical modifications to the device which are not
covered by this manual!
4.3

Disconnection from supply

Disconnecting the CLS from supply (intended or unintended) may result in
• an immediate abortion of a currently running transaction
• remaining coins in the processing paths
• wrong coin counters
