By now your lab should be equipped with the proper power supply and outlets as
described in

If you have not already done so, connect the power cord to the GC. Plug the power
cord into the appropriate power outlet. The power switch is located on the back
side of the GC. Flip the switch to the ON position.
If the detectors are not already installed on your FOCUS GC, you will need to
install them now. Refer to the FOCUS GC Instruction Manual for more
information about installing detector.
You will need to install a column in the GC. Refer to the FOCUS GC Instruction
Manual for more information about installing columns.
For system test information, refer to the FOCUS GC Instruction Manual, and to
the user manuals of any accessories you have connected to your FOCUS
GC system.
