To restart the ultrasound, press the Start button
the time at which it was stopped� If the Start button is not pressed within 5 minutes the start reminder activates�
Transporting the Patient and Control Unit
Warning: Always use the handle when carrying the Control Unit� Failure to do so could cause the Control Unit to be dropped resulting in
bodily injury�
Warning: Before transporting the patient or moving the Control Unit, unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and secure the Connector
Interface Cable near the patient� Pulling of the EKOS Device may cause the device to dislodge, loss of access and patient injury�

Unplug AC power cord from the wall outlet�
Note: The Control Unit will automatically switch to battery power and continue to provide ultrasound therapy, if the battery is
adequately charged� If the battery is not adequately charged ultrasound will stop and the Control Unit will turn OFF�

Secure the housing end of the Connector Interface Cable near the patient to prevent the EKOS Device from dislodging�

Secure the power cord�

Use the carrying handle, the EKOS CU 4�0 Cart or an infusion stand to transport the Control Unit with the patient�

Ensure the Control Unit is securely attached to the EKOS CU 4�0 Cart or infusion stand�
•
Transport by holding the pole in the middle or using the provided handle if available to ensure the best control�
•
Do not allow the EKOS CU 4�0 Cart or infusion stand to tip�
•
Secure patient cables to prevent disconnection during transport�
•
Take care not to trip on the power cord or Connector Interface Cable�

When the transport is complete, place the Control Unit on a table near the patient� If using the EKOS CU 4�0 Cart or an infusion stand,
ensure the Control Unit is securely attached�
6�
Plug the Control Unit into a hospital-grade outlet and, if it is not already turned ON, press the Power button

All external and accessible surfaces of this device should be cleaned per the instructions included in the user manual� Include any common
detachable cables (power cord, video cables, patch cords, etc�)� Review this manual to identify if any hazardous materials are present�
If placing the unit into an electronics recycling stream, notify the receiver of the presence the such materials� Use of recycling service suppliers
familiar with medical electrical equipment is recommended, but not required� Do not dispose of by incineration, burial or placement into
common waste stream�
