This section describes the operation and
troubleshooting of the AccuSense
Charger diagnosis and service requires special
training and equipment. Most charger repairs are
done by a special repair service. In addition to
charger operation and troubleshooting, this manual
refers to various battery applications. Some batteries
have a nameplate attached to the face of the battery
cover. This nameplate communicates specific
information about the battery including the name of
MODEL NUMBER PREFIX
There are also physical differences between Gen III
and Gen IV chargers. Gen III charger wire harness
connections are on the right side of the charger face
only. Gen IV charger wire harness connections are on
both sides of the charger face. See Figure 1 and
Figure 2.

the battery manufacturer, battery type, serial number,
nominal voltage, capacity in amperes at the five-hour
rate, and service mass (with ballast if used to
compensate for lack of battery mass).
NOTE: Gen IV Q-Series chargers can be identified
by the MFR MOD number on the charger label.
If the first two digits of the MFR MOD number read 1Q
or 2Q, the equipment is a Gen IV Q-Series charger.
