Horn

1.
Disconnect coil wires.
2.
Test contactor coil using an ohmmeter to measure
the resistance. The coil should read 30 ohms,
±5%.

REMOVE

1.
Turn the key switch to the OFF position and
disconnect the battery.
2.
Remove drive unit compartment cover. Refer to
AC Motor Repair 0620YRM1513, Accessing the
Drive Unit Compartment.
3.
Tag and remove the wires attached to the horn.
4.
Remove the two lock nuts retaining the horn to
the contactor bracket. See Figure 3.
5.
Remove the horn from the lift truck.
REMOVE
1.
Position the lift truck on a level surface. Turn the
key switch to the OFF position and disconnect the
battery.
2.
Remove the drive unit compartment cover. Refer
to AC Motor Repair 0620YRM1513, Accessing
the Drive Unit Compartment.
3.
Disconnect the sensor lead connector from the
truck harness.
4.
Lower the tiller handle and remove the nut
retaining the sensor to the tiller handle. See
Figure 8.

Brake and Interlock Sensor

3.
Remove and replace contactor if resistance
readings indicate a short circuit in both directions
or if there is an open circuit in both directions.
Make sure coil wires are connected to the proper
terminals.

INSTALL

1.
Position the horn on the two studs on the
contactor bracket.
2.
Install the lock nuts on the studs.
3.
Install all wires removed from the horn.
4.
Install the drive unit compartment cover.
5.
Turn the key switch to the ON position and
connect the battery.
6.
Operate the horn to confirm proper operation.
