INSTALL

1.
Install charger onto control panel. See Figure 16.
CHARGER MODE/BATTERY TYPE
SELECTION
WARNING
DO NOT use batteries types that are not approved
for the charger or improper mode settings.
Damage to the batteries or charger may occur if
the mode setting is not correct for the type of
batteries being used. If the battery manufacturer of
the battery you are using is not listed, contact
Service
Engineering
Management System.
NOTE: Mode settings can be checked by connecting
the battery charger to a 120V AC power source and
watching the LED display. The LED display on the
charger will flash to indicate the selected battery
mode. Consult Table 3 to determine the selected

Install two nuts holding charger onto control
panel. See Figure 16.

Install negative (black) electrical wire onto B(-)
terminal of controller. See Figure 16.
4.
Install positive (red) wire onto fused B(+) terminal.
5.
Connect two electrical connectors to main wiring
harness. See Figure 16.
6.
Feed power cord and LED connector through
front of control panel.
NOTE: When installing convenience port, make sure
to align anti-rotation pins with holes in control panel.
7.
Install convenience port into control panel. See
Figure 15.
8.
Feed power cord through lock nut prior to
plugging into bottom of controller.
9.
Install locknut onto convenience port and control
panel. Make lock nut finger tight. See Figure 15.
10. Install drive unit compartment cover. Refer to AC
Motor Repair 0620YRM1513, Accessing the
Drive Unit Compartment, Lift Trucks A419 and
B419A245 and B245.

to power, refer to Troubleshooting in this section.
NOTE: If the battery manufacturer of the battery you
are using is not listed, contact Service Engineering
through the Contact Management System.
The battery charger has 16 mode settings. The proper
mode setting is determined by the type batteries being
used in the battery pack. Note that batteries must be
uniform in brand and model. Do not mix differing
battery sizes, construction types, or old batteries with
new batteries. See Figure 20.
For lift trucks manufactured after May, 2013, the mode
key has been replaced with a dip switch. Removing
the Charging Mode Label voids warranty. Contact
Service Engineering to set charging mode for
replacement batteries, see Figure 19.
