BASIC OPERATION

Turning ON the transceiver

NOTE: Before using the transceiver for the first time,
the battery pack must be fully charged for optimum
life and operation. See the INSTRUCTIONS for
details.
Portable:
Rotate [VOL] to turn ON the transceiver.
• The battery voltage or the opening text may be displayed,
depending on the presetting.
Mobile:
Push the Power key to turn ON the transceiver.
• The opening text may be displayed, depending on the
presetting.

D Adjusting the audio level

When receiving a call, rotate [VOL] to adjust the audio
output level to a comfortable listening level.

D Entering the password

1. If the transceiver is preset for a Power ON
password, when turning ON the transceiver,
"PASSWORD" is displayed.
2. Portable:
Push the [0] to [9] digit keys to enter the
password.
Mobile:
Push the keys according to the table below.
• The transceiver detects numbers in the same block
as identical. Therefore "01234" and "56789" are the
same.

3. Repeat step 2 to enter the password.
4. After entering the correct password, the
transceiver automatically enter the Standby mode.
NOTE: If the transceiver does not enter the Standby
mode after entering the password, the entered code
may be incorrect. In that case, enter the correct
code.
