D Transmitting a Radio Check call

You can check whether the target station is turned
ON, within the communication range and on channel,
without requiring any action from the target station
user.
NOTE: When the call type is "Talkgroup," the Radio
Check call cannot be sent.
<Menu operation>
TIP: The Portable type transceiver's operations are
described in red. And the Mobile type transceiver's
operations are described in blue.
LThe common operations are in black.
(MENU > CONTACT > RADIO CHECK)
1. Push [Menu] to display the Menu screen.
• "CONTACT" is selected.

2. Push [P1](ENT) or [P2].
• The current call type is briefly displayed, then the
Contact menu screen is displayed.
LTo change the call type, see page 7-3.
3. Push [P2](Ω) or [P3](≈)
select the destination ID, then push
[P2].

5. Hold down [P1](TX)
transmit the Radio Check call.
• "RDO CHK" is displayed while transmitting.
L When the call type is "Talkgroup,"
disabled.
6. When an acknowledgment is received, "CHK
ACK" is displayed.
L "CHK FAIL" is displayed if the target station does not
send back an acknowledgement.
