TIP: The Portable type transceiver's operations are
described in red. And the Mobile type transceiver's
operations are described in blue.
LThe common operations are in black.
Using the Message menu:
(MENU > MESSAGE > WRITE NEW)
1. Push [Menu] to display the Menu screen.
• "CONTACT" is selected.
2. Push
[P2](Ω) or [P3](≈)
select "MESSAGE," then push

• To move the cursor, push

[P4≈].
• To correct an entry, move the cursor to the character,
and then, enter the correct character.
• To return to the previous screen, push
[P1].
5. After entering, hold down
transmit the message to the last called station or
Talkgroup.
• "MSG OK" is displayed after receiving an
acknowledgement from the target station.
• "MSG FAIL" is displayed if the target station does not
send back an acknowledgement.
