Filling the tank with test oil

1. Remove the screwed drain plug from the test oil filler
port (fig. 3, item 9).

If the test oil is poured in too quickly, it may run out
at the filler port. Immediately clean up test oil spills
with a cloth.
!
Only fill the EPS 118 with test oil according to
ISO 4113. Never use diesel fuel.
!
The test oil level must be both above the mark of the
oil level indicator (fig.°1, item 4) and within the sight
glass. If the test oil level cannot be seen in the with-
in the sight glass, too much test oil has been filled,
which will distort the measured values.
2. Pour test oil (ISO 4113) through the funnel very
slowly and carefully into the test oil filler port (fig. 3,
item 9). Pour in test oil until it is above the mark on
the oil level indicator (fig. 1, item 4) (approximately
4,5 l test oil).
3. Screw the screwed drain plug on to the test oil filler
port (fig. 3, item 9) and tighten by hand.

Filling the injection chamber with
test oil
!
To assure correct operation, the injection chamber
must always be full of test oil.
1. Remove the clamping bolt (fig. 5, item 6).
2. Remove the plastic cover from the hole for the
clamping bush (fig. 5, item 2).
3. Removes the removal tool (fig. 4, item 1) from the
injection chamber.
4. Remove the O-ring from the injector nozzle seat
(fig. 4, item 2) with the removal tool (fig. 4, item 1).
5. Unfasten the height adjusting clamping bolt (fig. 5,
Item 3).
6. Push the injection chamber with the injection cham-
ber lighting (fig. 5, item 4, 5) all the way down.
7. Place the funnel on the injection chamber. If neces-
sary, adjust the height of the injection chamber so
that the funnel lies on the injector nozzle in front of
the injection chamber. Then adjust the height of the
injection chamber and secure with the clamping bolt
(fig. 5, item 3).

If it is poured in too quickly, the test oil may run out
from the injection chamber.
!
Never fill the injection chamber with diesel fuel.
8. Pour the test oil (ISO 4113) through the funnel very
slowly and carefully into the chamber (fig. 24). Fill
until the chamber is full to the top.
9. Add the O-ring to the injector nozzle seat (fig. 4,
item 2).

EPS 118 is ready for operation.

After filling the injection chamber, a complete
CRI/CRIN or piezo CRI test must be performed. The
remaining air in the injection chamber is thereby
removed.
