Servicing the Toro V-Twin Engine (Cont.)
Checking the Spark Arrestor (if equipped)
Service Interval: Every 50 hours
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage the blade control switch, stop the engine, engage the parking
brake, and remove the key.
2. Wait for the muffler to cool.
3. If there are any breaks in the screen or welds, replace the arrester.
4. If the screen is plugged, remove the arrestor and shake the loose particles out of the arrester and clean the
screen with a wire brush (soak it in solvent if needed). Install the arrestor on the exhaust outlet.
MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Hot exhaust system components may ignite
gasoline vapors even after shutting off the
engine. Hot particles exhausted during engine
operation may ignite flammable materials.
Fire may result in personal injury or
property damage.
Do NOT refuel or run the engine unless a
spark arrester is installed.
