19.6 Setting the CANopen

Set the CANopen
-Node-ID and the baud rate at the fieldbus end of the module on the DIP-
switch (see also chapter 32.4.3).

Connect the device to the CANopen

19.6.2 Connection to the process device

Please also read the manual for the process device when commissioning the process device.

19.6.3 Connecting the supply voltage

Please connect 10..33 DC voltage to the terminals provided for this.

19.6.4 Shield connection

Earth the top-hat rail onto which the module has been snapped.

19.6.5 Project planning

Use any project planning tool for project planning.
If the required EDS file was not supplied with your project planning tool, a sample file can be
found on the Internet (www.deutschmann.de).

19.7 PROFINET address-assignment

Note: on delivery, the Gateway has no IP address!
During normal operation (data exchange mode) the IP address is assigned to the Gateway by
the PROFINET-IO-controller (PLC). For it the gateway has a device name on which it is addres-
sed. (see chapter 40.8). The IP address can be assigned manually or via a DHCP server.

PROFINET device name

Note: on delivery, the Gateway has no device name!
The device name is assigned via the configuration software of the Gateway. Alternatively the
device name can be changed via FTP (file „devname.txt") or via Script.
Accordingly to the PROFINET specification, the following rules apply to the device name:
* It consists of one or more name parts seperated through a full stop
* the total length is from 1 up to 240 characters
* the length of a part of the name is 1 up to 63 characters
* a name consists only of lowercase letters, numbers and the hyphen.
* neither the first nor the last character of a part of the name is a hyphen.
* the first part of the name does not begin with „port-xyz or „port-xyz-abcde",
whereas a, b, c, d, e, x, y and z are seen as numerals.
