6. Reinstall the battery, and ensure the orientation of the battery poles is correct. If you are

replacing an old battery, you must replace the battery with the same battery type, size, and

polarization. Contact ClearCube Support at

correct battery type.

7. Reinstall the top cover panel.

8. Replace the blade in the chassis and power on the blade.

9. Restore any necessary BIOS settings.

Updating the BIOS

A–Series blades use a customized BIOS. Use only ClearCube BIOS updates on A–Series

blades. To download BIOS updates from the ClearCube support Web site, perform the

following steps.

1. Go to ClearCube Support at http://support.clearcube.com/.

2. Select the appropriate A–Series blade in the PC Blades drop-down list box.

3. Click the BIOS link to display a list of BIOS downloads.

4. To download a BIOS, click the appropriate link and save the file to your computer. The

.ZIP file contains instructions about how to update the BIOS.

The following sections refer to additional information you can use to recover your BIOS.

If the BIOS on your A1410 blade becomes corrupted or you need to recover your BIOS for

any other reason, follow the instructions in the documentation at the following URL:

To recover your BIOS, use the update utility documented at the following URL:

You can upgrade an A3000 chassis to enable it to accept A1410 blades by adding the

following components:

•

Expansion Backplane—Provides all signal connectors and chassis ID for A1410 blades.

•

A3100 front bezel—A1410 blades are not compatible with A3000 front bezels.
