Configuring A–Series Blades before Installation
This section describes how to configure A–Series blades.

Enabling A1410 Blades for Out-of-band Management

You can use Intel Active Management Technology (AMT) features on A1410 blades to
manage A1410 blades out-of-band. AMT enables hardware-level access to an A1410 blade if
it is inserted in an A3100 chassis and connected to an Ethernet network. AMT-level
communication occurs independent of any operating system state. The following sections
describe how to configure an A1410 blade's AMT features on a bench or on a similar working
surface before deployment.

Specifying an AMT Administrator and Password

To perform the following steps, use an Ethernet cable to connect a computer to your blade.
Obtain the IP addresses of both computers and ensure that you have established a connection.
Note:
1. Power on the blade. The ClearCube splash screen is displayed, and

2. Press the appropriate function button to display the System Setup screen:
Appendix C. Technical Support
Based on the level of user activity, the maximum steady-state current draw of a single,
fully-loaded chassis ranges between 6 and 10 amperes at 120 VAC on each side of
the chassis (that is, on each power supply). The peak initial current draw is 12
amperes on each side. If you place multiple chassis on a single power circuit, ensure
that the circuit can safely handle the combined currents of all the equipment on the
circuit.
CAUTION: Ensure that your power strips, power grid, and circuit breakers
can safely provide the required current. Ensure that any extension cords
used meet local safety regulations and fire codes. Use peak current draws
when specifying uninterruptible power supply (UPS) capacity.
