MAIN DRIVE ASSEMBLY INSPECTION

1. Remove the Rear Cover Assembly (RRP 1-5)
2. Enter Diagnostics Mode.
3. From the Main Menu, select Comp Output Test / IOT
Unit / Main Motor On to check the Main Motor and
Main Drive Assembly.
Does the Main Motor run and do the gears of
the Drive Assembly rotate normally?

EXIT DRIVE TEST
1. Remove the Fuser Cover (RRP 1-1).
2. Enter Diagnostics Mode.
3. From the Main Menu, select Comp Output Test /
Duplex Unit / Invert Clutch CW.
4. While rotating the Main Drive Motor CCW by hand,
press [4] to start, the Invert Clutch CW should actuate
for two seconds, then release.
5. Observe the rotation of the exit gears.
6. Press [7] or [3] to display Invert Clutch CCW.
7. While rotating the Main Drive Motor CCW by hand,
press [4] to start, the Invert Clutch CCW should
actuate for two seconds, then release.
8. Observe the rotation of the exit gears - they should
rotate the opposite direction as observed in step 5
above.
Do the clutches function properly?

OFFSET TEST
1. Remove the Fuser Cover (RRP 1-1).
2. Enter Diagnostics Mode.
3. From the Main Menu, select Comp Output Test / IOT
Unit / Offset Motor Fnt.
4. Press [4] to start, Offset Motor should rotate and move
the offset roller toward the front of the printer.
5. Press [7] or [3] to display Offset Motor Rev.
6. Press [4] to start, Offset Motor should rotate the
opposite direction as in step 4 above and the offset
roller should move toward the rear of the printer.
Does the Offset Roller shift away from the
Offset Motor and toward the Motor?
