Parameters that affect the sensor detection features
The IS3.. series sensors are microprocessor based devices capable of detecting the number of twisting per
second or the number of twisting per meter or inch, signalling by means of Leds and Stop Output possible
defect (number of twisting outside the minimum/maximum programmed range):
The operation principle of the sensor is based on the image variation of the yarn shape, detected by a tiny
"camera" fitted inside the sensor itself.
The microprocessor embedded in the sensor, processes the images provided by the "camera" through a
special program loaded into the sensor memory, which is able to control the twisting of yarn running inside
the sensor and to detect / discriminate the presence of the above mentioned defects. The variables of this
program are represented by the settings connected to the article which is being controlled, i.e. the settings
that can be defined, changed and loaded into the sensors by means of the SMART MATRIX TWIST
system:

Speed [m/min]
It is the yarn collection speed of the machine; the conversion from "twist per second" to "twist per meter
/inch" is performed using this parameter. (programmable as 0.1 m/min to 2000 m/min).
Selecting the Auto Speed option, the system will automatically calculate the yarn collecting speed by means
of the synchronism signal connected to the
Sens
It adjusts the sensor's sensitivity level, according to the article being processed.
(It can be programmed with a value ranging from 1 [minimum sensitivity] to 8 [maximum sensitivity]).
TPXmax
This function allows setting the maximum number of twisting, above which the system will generate an error.
(programmable as: 1 to 1000).
The number of twisting (X) can be referred to Meter (M) or Inch (I).
yarn collection speed in meters (yard) per minute
sensor sensitivity
number of twists per Meter (Inch) above which a warning will be
generated
number of twists per Meter (Inch) under which a warning will be
generated
sensor reaction time in case of failure
waiting time before starting the control process
sensor working mode either (twist or balloon)
sensor reset in manual mode or automatic mode
detection masking time when the yarn is not inside the sensor (TB
working mode)
touch light button operating mode (lock or unlock)
processing time beyond which a package free of defects is
considered "good"
twist division factor
digital filter to reduce the hairiness effect
stop output operating mode
