With our SMART MATRIX TWIST yarn control system, you got an innovative, unique solution, which offers
you multiple advantages concerning the quality control of your production.
SMART MATRIX TWIST has been designed for application on textile machines such as twisters for tyrecord,
carpet, etc. that, during the working process, need a dedicated yarn quality control. In this kind of application
it is necessary to immediately detect a possible failure during the twisting process of two yarns, stop the
position where the fault occurred and signal the fault. The task of the IS3F-TTS/IS3W-TTS series BTSR
sensors is to detect and signal these twisting failures.
SMART MATRIX TWIST, combined with IS3F-TTS/IS3W-TTS twist control sensors, represents a complete
and effective machine control system.
The SMART MATRIX TWIST system has been developed by BTSR International S.p.A. to make easier and
optimize:

The system configuration,

The production monitoring.
The availability of a "User Friendly" graphic interface allows you to quickly and intuitively program all the
operating parameters of IS3F-TTS/IS3W-TTS sensors; in addition, it provides a real time monitoring of
sensors behaviour and production efficiency.
The SMART MATRIX TWIST system represents an alternative to the PC-LINK TWIST BTSR solution, which
allows you to monitor the production, program the IS3F-TTS / IS3W-TTS sensors and manage the statistics
by means of an application running in PC WINDOWS
database.

Manual Objectives
This manual has been written to provide the users of SMART MATRIX TWIST system with the essential
information required to:

Correctly install and connect the various system components (SMART MATRIX terminal, Board SM-
DIN TWIST, IS3F-TTS / IS3W-TTS sensors, etc.)
•
Configure the system according to the application needs and setup the various operation
parameters.
•
Detect and interpret the error signaling and system efficiency data as well as the graphics that
summarize the real time behavior of each individual sensor
•
Use the diagnostics maintenance and utility functions offered by the system (system component
test, firmware upgrading, etc.).
