Sew basting stitches as illustrated in the

Fold the quilted fabric at the basting
stitch seam. Join the quilt sleeve to the
quilted fabric while pressing the presser
foot guide against the folded edge of the
quilted fabric.
Perform lock stitching at the start and end
of sewing by pressing the reverse stitch
button.

For the opposite side, fold the quilted
fabric at the basting stitch seam and join
the quilt sleeve to the quilted fabric while
pressing the presser foot guide against
the folded edge of the quilted fabric.

After you have completed sewing, remove
the basting stitch seam.
