5 – Preventive maintenance
Replace the hydraulic fluid
Do this every 3,000 hours.
Install a new hydraulic filter and filler-breather cap when replacing the hydraulic fluid.
1 Drain valve
2 1-14629 Filler-breather cap
3 Sight gauge
Parts, tools, and materials
1-17473 Hydraulic fluid service kit
Antiwear (AW) mineral oil or synthetic hydraulic
fluid, ISO viscosity grade (VG) 32 or 46
Clean towels
Isopropyl alcohol
Standard 9/16-inch open-ended wrench
(for the drain valve plug)
Standard 15/16-inch crowfoot wrench or socket
(for the access cover)
Do this task when the pump is not running.

Do not put too much hydraulic fluid in the tank.
