Drive Motor Assembly Installation

Install drive motor assembly in reverse order from
removal. Ensure the tenon of the gear box casing contacts
the top of the mounting plate slot as shown following.

Correctly install the hardened washers and spring wash-
ers. Torque the 4 Hex. Head Cap Screws Grade 10.9 to
102 Nm (75 ft.lb).
Oil Type & Capacity
The torque hub unit is designed to utilize the same oil
throughout its service life. However, should it need to be
serviced the oil could need to be drained and replaced.
When serviced, fill the unit with ISO VG220 oil.
The gearbox will need to be filled with 2 liters (0.53 Gal.) of
oil.

Oil Filling

NOTE: Oil filling procedure requires the removal of the drive
motor assembly.

1. Position the drive motor assembly vertically, brake
upwards, in a stable position (e.g. in a vise).

2. Loosen the 4 screws securing the electric motor
assembly to the gear box. Lift and remove the elec-
tric motor assembly.
3. Drain and flush the gear box casing, replace gear
box casing vertically and refill with appropriate oil
amount.
4. Check condition of the gear box seal. Replace if
necessary.
5. Reinstall the electric motor assembly and secure
with hardware.
