Process Data
The control byte and status byte used for counter controlling and monitoring are
listed below:

Control Byte

The control byte allows the configuration of the counter via the process data:

Gate function: Both counter values and status information remain unchanged
("frozen") as long as the gate is inactive.
Control mode: The counter value remains unchanged ("frozen"), including status
information, as long as the control mode is active.
