Pins for protecting/clearing the passwords
Place the clip on the two pins to clear the passwords.
Remove the clip from these pins to protect the passwords (factory-set).

Place the clip on the two pins to clear the CMOS data.
Remove the clip from these pins to protect the CMOS data (factory-set).
The following describe the clearing procedure.
Observe the following instructions to use the server safely. Failure to follow
these instructions may result in death or serious personal injury. See safety
precautions in Chapter 1.
How to Clear CMOS
Power off the server and unplug the power cord(s).

Remove the PCI modules (#1 and #2) from the server (see Chapter 8).

Make setting of jumper switch on one PCI module (PCI Module #1 in this example) to

clear CMOS.
IMPORTANT:
Before clearing CMOS, NEC Express5800/ft series must be ready
for use with a keyboard hooked up.
Use the clip located on jumper pins (pins 11 and 12) on the
motherboard.
Be careful not to lose the clip.
Mount only PCI Module#1 (where a CMOS clear jumper has been mounted) to the server

(see Chapter 8).
Plug the power cord; when the POWER Switch LED turns on, press it to power on the

server.
Shortly after the startup, the following message will appear:

Do not disassemble, repair, or alter the server.
