1.1. Product Overview
Aerotech's DR500 Drive Chassis is an integral part in a UNIDEX 500 or UNIDEX 600
based control system. The DR500 is a 19" rack mount chassis with provision for holding
up to four individual amplifiers (DC servo, AC brushless, or microstepping) that are
inserted into the front of the DR500 panel. The DR500 also provides bus power for the
amplifier modules and acts as a breakout for all control and I/O signals, as well as mating
to Aerotech's standard motor and feedback cables. The DR500 is available in 19-inch
rack mount and desktop packaging. The individual amplifiers (a maximum of four) are
inserted into the front of the DR500 panel. The back of the DR500 has all the cable
connectors as well as descriptions for each. The DR500 Drive Chassis is shown in Figure
1-1.
